Day at the Park

We tried to go to the zoo yesterday. However, the rest of Seattle was there because the weather was so nice. We ended up bypassing waiting in line and just going to to grab some pizza at Zeeks, and then we went to the park around the corner. Dash didn't know any different. He had a ball on the swing!

Dash went to his first birthday party today. Bennett, one of the children from our PEPS group, turned one today. Everyone from our PEPS group attended with the exception of one child. The kids enjoyed hanging out and stealing toys from each other.

Bennett is the oldest of the seven kids in the group. The rest are within a few weeks of each other (June/July birthdays). Everyone seems to be hitting various developmental milestones at different paces. Dash and two others are not yet crawling, while several of the others are crawling and pulling themselves up.

Dash has made great strides over the last few weeks with being able to get around. He went from sitting up, to learning to get down on his stomach gracefully (not just falling over and hitting his head), to rolling all over the floor, to pushing himself around the floor (granted he can only push himself backwards)...not necessarily all in that order. He is on the verge of crawling these days. He can now balance on his hands and knees with his belly off of the floor, and he even rocks back and forth. He also does a modified plank/push up position. It is super cute. I often come in his room to find him in his crib in these various positions.

He will be taking off very soon....can't wait!
