Grandma's Visit to Seattle

Grandma Beck has been visiting since Monday. She came to help with Dashiell this week, as our nanny was on vacation. She has been having a ball with Dash, and he has too!
The weather has been great here...uncharacteristically warm for February. Today was beautiful-sunny and close to 60 degrees. We decided to go downtown to Pike Place because Grandma needed to bring home some smoked salmon in order to have a ride home from the airport!. We also made it down to the Olympic Sculpture Park. Dash cooperated with a bit of a sightseeing photo shoot!

Swimming

So we took Dash swimming for the first time since Hawaii. He was much more into it today, although the pics aren't representative of that. He was a bit timid at first but got more comfortable and even started kicking his legs like he was doing the breast stroke.
Dash was so tired out from swimming and an earlier visit to see some friends, that he fell asleep in my arms in the locker room at the pool!

PEPS Brunch

Rishi and Dash

Theo, Mateo, Alex, Peter, Rishi, Dash, and Bennett

We hosted a brunch with our PEPS group today. We try to get together on a monthly basis. The seven babies range in age from 7-11 months; all of them are sitting up and two are crawling and pulling themselves up to a standing position.

They were way more interactive today than our previous meeting!

7 Months Old

7 Months Old
Playdate with Alex

Dash was very interested in Alex. He kept trying to touch her and steal her toys!

And he tried to wrestle her!

Dash is 7 months old today! Hard to believe....the time just goes by so fast. And it goes by much faster now that I am back at work. I have had hardly any time to post pics or to document Dashiell's latest milestones.
So, a quick summary of the last three weeks:

-Dash is sitting up on his own and maintaining very good balance
-He can roll over front to back and back to front and will roll to try to get to a specific spot on the floor
-He occasionally gets up on his hands and knees with his belly off the floor for a few seconds
-He can push himself backwards when on his belly on a wood floor
-He loves to stand on my lap when I hold his arms...he can actually stand up when leaning back a bit against my legs (I am in standing position too)
-His first tooth is finally on its way in....I felt it barely poking through yesterday

Alas, I need to get some sleep so I will leave you with some pics.....the usual first of the month photo and some pics from a play date with our friend's daughter, Alexandra.
